Beer Festivals and Events
Sep. 4, 2023
Atlanta offers so much, and the beer events here (and in the surrounding areas) are no small part of it. It feels like every year we learn about a new event to try, and we can't wait to share what we've discovered with you.
September: Butterflies & Brews
This one is coming up fast, but Butterflies & Brews features a picnic in the park at Dunwoody nature center and a magical walk among butterflies. It's part of the larger Butterfly Experience event happening this weekend. Get your tickets ASAP!
September: Taste of Atlanta Festival
The Taste of Atlanta Festival offers Grand Tastings across Atlanta. The Westside tasting was in July, and the Alpharetta tasting is this Thursday, but the Midtown tasting is in mid-October. Each tasting includes great food from some of the area's finest restaurants, plus wine, craft cocktails, and beer tastings. Find tickets for your area.
September: Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest
This one is a little outside Atlanta, but it's a short drive for a great event. It's held twice each year, in early June and late September, so if you're often busy in September there's another chance for you. The Brew Moon Fest is a true Dancing in the Street party in downtown Alpharetta, featuring beers from local brewers Jekyll Brewing. Plan your trip to Alpharetta.
October: Chalktoberfest
Not feeling up to Atlanta's traditional Oktoberfest? Take a short drive over to Marietta for Chalktoberfest, presented by the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. The Craft Beer Festival on Saturday features 120 different kinds of craft beer from 40 breweries (plus 25 wine varietals), alongside weekend-long live chalk art, live music, food trucks and an artisan market. Most of Chalktoberfest is free, but you can buy tickets for the Craft Beer Fest here.
January: Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting
The 18th Annual Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting at Bold Monk Brewing Company allows you to sample 50+ rare cask-conditioned beers. It's a highly regarded craft beer event in Northwest Atlanta which also happens to benefit the Atlanta Humane Society. The only thing better than sampling amazing beers is doing so while supporting a good cause.
February: Atlanta Winter Beerfest
The Atlanta Winter Beerfest had to be canceled this year because of inclement weather, so we're doubly looking forward to the 2024 festival. The festival heavily features both Atlanta beer and Georgia beer and — most importantly — a heated tent to enjoy them in. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather.
June: 20,000 Beers Under the Sea
The Georgia Aquarium hosted its 2nd Annual 20,000 Beers Under The Sea this past June, and we're hopeful it'll return for a third year. Not only do you get to enjoy unlimited beer, seltzer and cider samples, but you also get to do so in one of the best aquariums in the country. We don't encourage actually drinking 20,000 beers, but you can certainly try more than a few!
None of these striking your fancy? Find more beer and wine events that may interest you, or just stop in today at the Tap on Ponce. We're more than just a beer store, so we're able to help you find beer you love and pour it like pros - with none of the entry fees. We can’t wait to see you at the Tap!
